PRESIDENT'S VISION

I took over as the president in the year 2004. My vision as a president, was and is, to take Karnatik music to the masses, mainly in the rural areas of Karnataka. On this forethought, out of 13 music festivals under my tenure, 8 conferences were held outside Bangalore, like Ramanathapura (Hobli), Nanjangud (TW), Holenarasipur (TW), Siddapur (NK/TW), Tumkur, Gadag, Bijapur and Belur. The other important aspect on my mind was to not let classical music weigh any less and not be considered as a mere entertaining medium. Karnatic music is a healing force by itself which is the need of the hour for the generation today! Hence the commitee at parishat also targets audience of all age groups while it formulates its events.
It has around 1200-1300 musicians as members. I want to involve each musician to contribute his mite to bring awareness among public about the values of this fabulous art form. I have always believed that music is the only medium which brings harmony and peace and eradicate terrorism, corruption etc. and I want to see a complete revolution through classical music, which makes our country an abode of peace and tradition in the world. I request all like-minded friends to come forward to chalk out the necessary strategies to achieve our objective and take a pledge to keep the flame of karnatic music bright for our generation next. All efforts to support this idea are always welcome.
